The heat is on and that means it's time to break out the shorts and the bathing suits, but some would rather duck and hide because of a problem for 85 million women shows up on their thighs, rear end and everywhere else in between. We're talking about that dreaded thing called cellulite!

Gloria Loves has tried creams, potions and lotions and none of those things really work longer than a half hour, but a brand new FDA approved treatment called Cellfina may be the answer. Plastic Surgeon Dr. Charles Boyd who owns Boyd Cosmetics in Birmingham says it really works.

It's done in the office on a table and we use local numbing and a device releases the bands and you go home. Gloria jumped at the chance to try it.

Dr. Boyd uses a local anesthetic so you don't feel anything other than a prick from the numbing medication.  A little machine does all the work releasing the band that sits between the skin and the fat that causes the dimpling of the skin. It’s a pretty simple 45 minute procedure.

Gloria is having the treatment to the buttocks and thigh area. She says she is interested because it’s not terribly invasive, not painful, and in a few weeks she’ll have a beach body.

Dr. Boyd says once Cellfina is done you may experience bruising for three to four weeks, but the smoothness will last you three years.

Gloria says after 20 years she can wear a bathing suit, in fact she’s ready for a bikini!

The cost for the Cellfina treatment is three to five thousand dollars depending on the areas of treatment.
