(WXYZ) — The COVID-19 pandemic has forced several changes to annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day events in metro Detroit, but they are still happening.

- Driving for Justice Peace Parade in Southfield. Begins at 9 a.m. at Hope United Methodist Church
- Virtual Keynote Address with White House Correspondent Yamiche Alcindor from the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History
- MLK Day of Service in Sterling Heights and Clinton Township
- Virtual Unity Breakfast from the JCRC/AJC, the urban League and ADL
- Community-wide march in Romulus at 9 a.m. Begins a Romulus Community Baptist Church and ends at Pentecost Baptist Church
- Virtual film screening and panel discussion from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. with Detroit Historical Museum
- Virtual celebration from the Coalition for Black and Jewish United and the Black and Jewish Unity Caucus of Michigan
- Virtual celebration from Walled Lake Consolidated School District
