Multiple closures will be in effect this weekend, according to the Michigan Department of Transportation.
Stretches of I-696, I-75, I-94 and more major freeways will close in what MDOT is calling the busiest construction weekend of the year.
The following closures will be in effect:
I-696 in Oakland County
- Eastbound I-696 will be closed from US-24/Telegraph to I-75, beginning Friday at 8 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m.
- All of these eastbound ramps will be closed: M-10, Telegraph, Lahser, Evergreen, Southfield, Greenfield, Coolidge, Woodward and Bermuda/Mohawk.
- Detour: SB M-10 to EB M-8/Davison to NB I-75 to EB I-696
- Westbound I-696: Multiple lanes closed from US-24/Telegraph to I-275. One lane will be open beginning Saturday at 10 p.m. to Sunday at 8 a.m.
- WB I-696 Service Drive at Hoover will have one lane open from Saturday at 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- WB I-696 from Coolidge to Southfield will have the left lane closed from Friday at 9 p.m. to Sunday at 9 p.m.
I-75 in Wayne County
- NB I-75 at Vernor will have one lane open from Friday at 10 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m.
- SB Fort Street at I-75 will have one lane open from Friday at 8 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m.
- Clay ramp to SB I-75 will be closed from Friday at 7 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m.
I-94
- Wayne County
- EB/WB I-94 is closed from Conner to 75, beginning Friday at 7 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m., and all EB/WB ramps including I-96, M-10, I-75 and all others to M-102/8 Mile.
- Ramp closures begin at 7 p.m., WB closure by 8:30 and EB closure by 9 p.m.
- WB I-94 detour: WB M-102/8 Mile to SB I-75 to WB I-94
- EB detour: NB I-75 to EB M-102/8 Mile to EB I-94
- EB/WB I-94 is closed from Conner to 75, beginning Friday at 7 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m., and all EB/WB ramps including I-96, M-10, I-75 and all others to M-102/8 Mile.
- Macomb County
- EB I-94 at Metro Pkway, right lane closed, two open, Mon-Fri 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- EB I-94 ramp to Metro Pkway, intermittent ramp closure, Mon-Fri 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- WB I-94 at Shook, right lane closed, two open, Mon-Fri 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- EB I-94 at North River, right lane closed, two open, Mon-Fri 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- EB I-94 ramp to North River, intermittent ramp closure, Mon-Fri 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- No traffic permitted on 17 Mile Road and 18 Mile Road on Saturday
- No traffic permitted on 15 Mile Road and 16 Mile Road on Sunday
I-96 in Wayne County
- EB I-96 ramp to EB I-94 closed from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday
- W. Grand Blvd ramp to EB I-96 closed from 7 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday
Woodward (M-1)
- Oakland County: Two lanes closed, two open from 14 Mile to Quarton on NB/SB Woodward from 9 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday
M-10 (Lodge Freeway)
- Oakland County
- NB/SB M-10 ramps to EB I-696 closed from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday
- Wayne County
- NB/SB M-10 ramps to EB I-94 closed from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday
- Forest ramp to NB M-10 closed from 7 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday
M-14 in Wayne County
- One lane open on EB M-14 at Northville Road from 6 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday
M-39 in Wayne County
- One lane open, right two closed on SB M-39 from McNichols to Ford Road from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday
M-53 (Van Dyke)
- Macomb County: NB M-53 ramp to 18 1/2 Mile closed Mon-Fri 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Wayne County: M-53 ramps to EB/WB I-94 closed from Friday at 7 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m.
M-59 in Macomb County
- 2 lanes closed, 2 lanes open on WB M-59 from Delco Blvd to Van Dyke from 6 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday
- 2 lanes closed, 2 open on EB M-59 from Van Dyke to Delco Blvd from 10 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday
- REMINDER: Romeo Plank remains closed at M-59 without access to or across M-59
Fort St. (M-85)
- Wayne County: One lane open on SB M-85 under I-75 from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday
US-12 (Michigan)
- Wayne County: 2 lanes open, 2 lanes closed on EB/WB US-12, Gulley to Middlebelt, from 7 a.m. Monday to 3 p.m. Friday.
US-24/Telegraph
- Oakland County: NB Telegraph ramp to EB I-696 closed from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.
