In Ann Arbor, University of Michigan Police are trying to locate the three men responsible for assaulting and robbing several students at gunpoint inside their dorm room at the West Quad Residence Hall.

It happened around 10 p.m. Monday, about an hour after the students let the three men they were acquainted with into their room.

Police say two of the victims were physically assaulted and all three were robbed of personal items.

Investigators tell 7 Action News that it's unclear who allowed the would-be robbers to get into the locked residence hall, but once they were outside the students' room, they were allowed inside.

About an hour after visiting with the students is when police say the visit turned violent as the men assaulted two of the students and robbed all of them at gunpoint.

Below are the only descriptions of the three suspects that have been released by police:

#1 - Black male, 6', light complexion, thin build, with a tattoo on his neck, clean fade haircut, wearing a black windbreaker coat.
#2 - Black male, dark complexion, large build, 5'11", 18-20 years, wearing a black hooded coat.
#3 - Black male, 18-20 years, 5'11", wearing a black knit winter cap, dark gray and burgundy striped sweater.

Anyone with any information is urged to call the U-M Division of Public Safety and Security at (734) 763-1131.
