If you're in search of community resources or need support for open enrollment, Mercy Health and Saint Joseph Mercy Health System want to help.

The health systems, which are apart of Trinity Health Michigan, have set up a hotline to help people in the community find food, transportation, medication assistance and beyond.

"We know that social determinants of health, such as food insecurity and lack of health insurance, are a driving factor in poor health outcomes. The COVID-19 pandemic has escalated these challenges. Now more than ever people are struggling with job loss and other life changes and may not be sure where to begin finding needed services," said Dave Spivey, vice president of Community Health and Well Being, Trinity Health Michigan, in a press release.

HOTLINE: 1-833-247-1258 (callers can press 2 for west Michigan assistance or 3 for southeast Michigan)

According to Trinity Health Michigan, hospital representatives will connect callers to area resources. Staff is also available to help with enrollment in health insurance programs.

Trinity Health Michigan said more than 5,000 people across the state have already benefited from the hotline since the launch. Top needs reportedly include access to COVID-19 testing, transportation to medical appointments, housing support and food.
