WARREN, Mich. (WXYZ) — State troopers arrested two men Friday night with a host of violations.
On Aug. 26 around 10:30 p.m., troopers conducted a traffic stop on 8 Mile Road and Van Dyke in Warren for no license plate light and no insurance. The 25-year-old driver was arrested for no insurance, according to MSP.
During a search of the vehicle, police found a loaded Smith & Wesson pistol in the center compartment. The 22-year-old passenger admitted the gun was his and had a CPL.
Troopers later discovered the pistol was unregistered and expired CPL was from another state.
Both were arrested and placed at Macomb County Jail – the driver for felon in possession of a firearm and no insurance and the passenger for carrying a concealed weapon.
The passenger was later released, according to MSP.
