WARREN, Mich. (WXYZ) — State troopers arrested two men Friday night with a host of violations.

On Aug. 26 around 10:30 p.m., troopers conducted a traffic stop on 8 Mile Road and Van Dyke in Warren for no license plate light and no insurance. The 25-year-old driver was arrested for no insurance, according to MSP.

During a search of the vehicle, police found a loaded Smith & Wesson pistol in the center compartment. The 22-year-old passenger admitted the gun was his and had a CPL.

Troopers later discovered the pistol was unregistered and expired CPL was from another state.

Both were arrested and placed at Macomb County Jail – the driver for felon in possession of a firearm and no insurance and the passenger for carrying a concealed weapon.

The passenger was later released, according to MSP.
