Trump won Michigan by about 13,000 votes.
Many say the push from supporters in Macomb County gave him the edge.
Many say it came down to the issue of blue collar jobs.
Donald Trump's win is a bit of a landslide, getting 53-percent of votes versus Hilary Clinton's 42-percent.
"I'm excited to see what he is going to do," said Mark Hanus, a Trump supporter. "Hopefully he is going to make America great again."
That's what many Macomb County voters are feeling now that Donald Trump has been elected president.
Trump won Michigan and it's the first time the state voted Republican since 1988.
"In Macomb (County) you have a conservative Democrat. And northern part of our County is Republican," said Macomb County Clerk Carmella Sabaugh.
She had an idea that Trump would win the county, but she thought the race would be a little closer.
Trump's campaign held several rallies in Macomb County boosting his support.
She explained, "I think people wanted a voice and I think they found that in Trump in Macomb County."
Not all voters were happy with the results.
Felicia Hayes voted for Clinton but wasn't surprised Trump won the county.
"You would figure Oakland County, Macomb County because of Trump and you see it on everybody's lawn... Trump, Trump, Trump," she said.
Many people, like Vernon Wilson, say it came down to job growth for Macomb County voters.
"A community that has lost a lot of jobs that have gone overseas and he says he is going to bring our jobs back to us," he said.
By the time all of Michigan votes had been counted, Donald Trump had already nabbed enough electoral votes to win the presidency.
