(WXYZ) — President Donald Trump said Sunday he wanted to hold a "big rally" in Michigan but was told he couldn't.

In an interview with Fox News' Chris Wallace, Trump lashed out at Democrats before talking about the rally he wanted to hold.
"I called Michigan. I want to have a big rally in Michigan. Do you know we're not allowed to have a rally in Michigan?" he said. "Do you know we're not allowed to have a rally in Minnesota? Do you know we're not allowed to have a rally in Nevada? We're not allowed to have rallies in these Democrat-run states."
A spokeswoman for Whitmer said "nobody in the administration has heard from President Trump's team about this.”
Last month, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer said the state would seriously think about blocking a potential Trump rally.
“We know that congregating without masks, especially at an indoor facility, is the worst thing to do in the midst of a global pandemic,” Whitmer said in an interview before Trump's rally in Oklahoma, conceding that she wasn’t aware of the specific legal tools she had available to block a prospective Trump rally. “I just know we have limitations on the number of people that can gather and that we’re taking this seriously.”
