Three days after Nadar Chehadi was killed on the shoulder of I-94 near Ann Arbor, his twin brother Sam is speaking out about the driver who crashed, and he has a message for all of us.

Sam convinced his brother to move here from Lebanon in 2000 and both worked for their uncle’s towing business.

Sam says they are like all first responders with family members always concerned about their safety.

“Every wife, every mother, every sister is waiting to hear. Because tomorrow, there might not be tomorrow.”

Nadar leaves behind a wife and two young kids, who Sam says are not understanding their father is gone for good.

“We told them he went up to the sky to get you a star. His kid was, I don’t want a star I just want my dad.”

The driver of an SUV crashed into a stopped school bus that killed Nadar who was there to tow the bus in.  T

he driver Andrea Edwards has had three drunk driving convictions and had never had a full driver’s license.

Police are awaiting toxicology results to find out if drugs or alcohol are factors in the crash.

Another woman and 3 young kids were also inside the SUV.  Two remain in critical condition, 2 are in stable condition and a 2-year-old has been released from the hospital.

Police say the kids were not wearing seat belts.

Sam says punish the driver hard for his brother’s kids.

“People have to wake up, realize respect each other. Do what the law says move over.  Hopefully this will do something.”

Sam’s family is observing Ramadan and more family will be at the cemetery on Sunday.  They will also be watching the criminal case of the driver.
