A suspect in a horrible human trafficking case is back behind bars after he escaped from a Shelby Township courtroom earlier today. He ran away from the district court house.
Police say Michael Welch and a Misty George held a 29-year-old woman in the shed behind his home at the Westbridge Manor mobile home park located near 21 Mile Rd and Heydenreich. The victim suffers from mental and physical disabilities.
Welch and George reportedly did not let her use the bathroom or shower. Welch reportedly used a website to advertise sexual services performed by the victim.
The victim is now safe.
