Two persons of interest sought in Frenchtown Twp. shooting

(WXYZ) — The Monroe County Sheriff's Department is asking for the public's help to locate two persons of interest in a Frenchtown Township shooting.

According to the sheriff's office, the shooting on Feb. 1 left two teenage girls injured, one critically.

Officials say they were called to the area of Stewart Rd. and Telegraph Rd. around 10:15 p.m. on report of a shooting.

According to officials, the victims' vehicle was going east on Stewart Rd. when a small dark car pulled next to them. A man got out of the other car and opened fire on the vehicle.

An 18-year-old Monroe woman was shot several times, and a 17-year-old passenger was also injured. Two 20-year-old women and two children in the car were not injured.

The sheriff's office say they are looking for Kelvin Lamont Harris Jr. and A-Kouri Watkins as persons of interest in the case, both have ties to Monroe, Brownstown Twp., Detroit, and Toledo, Ohio.

They also have unrelated felony warrants out for their arrest, according to officials.
