A judge set bond at $10,000 for two teens accused of dressing up as clowns and chasing people.

Two 14-year-olds ran in to the Roseville Police Department around 9 p.m. in "hysterics."

The teens told authorities they had been walking in the 18000 block of Minnesota Street when a car pulled up and two people dressed as clowns popped out and started to chase them, according to police.

Another teen and her mom also reported being chased by clowns on Minnesota Street a short time later.

“You’re just thinking about your own safety,” said Arianna Fouchey, who was chased by clowns. “With everything that is going on you don’t know who is behind the mask. You don’t know if it is males or females. You don’t know if they have a weapon or anything,” said Fouchey.

Officers were sent to the scene and after a foot pursuit, police say the two clowns were arrested. They are identified as 18-year-old Jaime Salinis and 17-year-old Elandra Sledge.

“It is extremely, extremely alarming, what's going on in the United States,” said Judge Catherine Steenland, of the Roseville District Court.

After arraigning them on misdemeanor disorderly conduct charges the judge allowed them to argue for a low bond.

"Like I'm a college student. I don't have money and I'm off of financial aid and I'm still paying for school too,” said Sledge.

"I go to school. I do work, but I don't make much money,” said Salinis.

When the judge set their bond at $10,000 they cried.

Police pleaded for people to stop copying the clown pranks and attacks that have been reported around the country.

Fouchey said she fears it is ruining Halloween for little kids.

“They’re scared.  There are kids that love Halloween and love candy and you’re ruining everything,” said Fouchey.
