Divers with The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office are searching for 30 year-old Craig Moir of Minnesota. They believe he drowned overnight.

Investigators say Moir was one of 4 people out on a 32 foot, Sea Ray cabin-cruiser on Lake St. Clair, near the mouth of the Clinton River, when Moir and another person decided to swim.  Once they were in the water, the boat drifted away. The other person made it back to the boat, but Moir did not. He is missing and it's believed he has drowned.

They say a woman on the boat first called the U.S. Coast Guard around 12:15 a.m. The U.S. Coast Guard arrived and started searching. The Sheriff's Marine Division was contacted at 1:09 a.m.

In that time, the boat drifted even farther, so the search area for divers is even larger.

As for the others on the boat, investigators had told them to stay at the scene. However, the boat operator went to Miller Marina in St. Clair Shores. Deputies caught up with him and arrested him for being under the influence of alcohol.

That 32 year-old owner/operator of the boat is being held in the Macomb Co. Jail. The other two people on the boat were interviewed and released.
