One of our own was honored Thursday by the U.S. Marshals.

7 Action News reporter Ann Marie LaFlamme was recognized by U.S. Marshal Robert Grubbs of the Eastern District of Michigan for her work bringing you Detroit’s Most Wanted.

The event happened at the Patrick V. McNamara Federal Building in downtown Detroit.

In the past year, the collaboration between the U.S. Marshals and WXYZ has featured 23 of the worst criminals in Metro Detroit.

“With Channel 7’s vast network they take the info we give them, spread it out to the masses and the result is that bad people are coming off the streets,” Grubbs said.

Fifteen of the fugitives we’ve featured with the U.S. Marshals have been captured as a direct result of your tips to law enforcement. That includes killers, rapists and pedophiles.
