On Tuesday May 17, the 18th annual Ford Freedom Award program will take place in Detroit at the DSO Orchestra Hall. The theme for this year's event is Men of Courage: Advancing the Narrative of African American Men.

Usher will be making a special appearance, along with NFL Hall of Famer Jerome Bettis. There will also be performances by Angie Stone, Dough E. Fresh, Avery Wilson, and Syncopated Ladies.

Dave Bing and Reginald F. Lewis are being honored with the 2016 Ford Freedom Award.

The event is being held thanks to a grant from the Ford Motor Company Fund, Ford Motor Company's charitable arm, and the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History.

Tickets can be purchased for $50, or $150 for VIP reception tickets.
