(WXYZ) — A major snowstorm overnight has caused the closure of more than 300 schools throughout metro Detroit.
As of midnight Tuesday, more than 7 inches of snow fell at Detroit Metro Airport, a record for Feb. 15.
Because of the cold temperatures, the snow is powdery, and blowing snow will be an issue throughout the day with wind gusts up to 20+ mph.
