Another criminal is behind bars, thanks to a WXYZ viewer tip.

The Detroit Fugitive Apprehension Team arrested Keith Dewberry, who was wanted for drug trafficking across state lines.

The task force found Dewberry at a home on Healy Ave. in Detroit. They said he was using a fake Texas ID.

Dewberry has a long criminal history. He was caught with a number of prescription painkillers. Ohio State Police say they busted the 44-year-old after a drug dog alerted them during a traffic stop. Dewberry had Oxycodone pills stashed in his possession, police say. Police believe this was not an isolated incident, but instead part of a trafficking pipeline that moves more than just drugs.

"There’s a drug epidemic affecting America and a lot of those drugs travel from Michigan through Ohio to Florida, West Virginia," said Deputy Justin Efthemiou.

Dewberry is no stranger illegal activity

"Dewberry has a very lengthy criminal history of carrying concealed weapons – numerous gun charges and numerous drug-dealing type of activities," Efthemiou said.

Police say he was charged in Ohio, then took off, heading right back home to metro Detroit.
