A Warren father charged in the death of his own baby was in court on Tuesday and if convicted, he could spend the rest of his life behind bars.
Back in June, 23-year-old James Michael Franks called 911 after his daughter became unresponsive. Franks says he fell down the stairs and the baby was injured. The medical examiner is disputing that claim.
Franks was charged with homicide felony murder and felony child abuse.
During his arraignment, he looked like he wanted to break down and even shed a few tears as the judge handed him down his charges.
Franks is due back in court on August 16.
