(WXYZ) — The now famous Detroit Youth Choir was featured on America's Got Talent on Tuesday night, and the host, Flint's own Terry Crews, sent them straight to the finals by hitting the golden buzzer.

The choir performed "Can't Hold Us" by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, under the leadership of Director Anthony White, who we featured as person of the week a few years ago.

After comments from the judges, Crews interrupted and was fighting tears when he said, "every man and woman on this stage represents me and where I came from. I remember sitting at my window in Flint, Michigan, dreaming about wanting to make it and wanting to be here, and they are here."

That brought tears to some of the choir members and people in the audience, as he hit the golden buzzer. That sends them directly to the finals and gives them a chance to win $1 million.

"You're cool, this was not expected. If you can keep doing this where every performance is the last thing you'd expect a choir to do, you can win this," Simon Cowell added.

"Let me tell you something, Mr. White. All it takes is one person to believe in a young man or woman for them to reach their dreams, and you are that man, sir," Crews yelled as he slammed down the golden buzzer.
