Former Michigan State University basketball star Mateen Cleaves was back in court today.
He faced a motion hearing in Flint regarding the sexual assault case against him.
One of the issues was whether the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office should be disqualified from the case.The defense argued there is a conflict involving that office and the alleged victim.
At the hearing today, the judge dismissed the motion to disqualify the prosecutor's office.
There was also a motion from the defense to schedule a competency evaluation for the victim. That motion was also denied by the judge.
The preliminary hearing for Cleaves has been set for September 15 at 9 a.m.
