(WXYZ) — A couple in Wayne County won $1 million playing the Michigan Lottery's Emerald 10's instant game.
"We've played Lottery together for years," said the husband, 50. "Sometimes I'll buy tickets and she'll scratch them, or the other way around. This time, I happened to buy the ticket and she scratched it off."
"When I scratched the ticket and saw '$1,000,000' I started squealing and jumping around," said the wife, 50. "The butterflies still haven't gone away. It's a great feeling!"
The pair chose to receive their prize as a one-time lump sum payment of $634,000. With their winnings, they plan to pay bills and then invest the remainder.
