WESTLAND, Mich. (WXYZ) — Do you love going to haunted houses? Now you don’t have to wait until October to enjoy a good fright.

For the first time ever, Hush Haunted Attraction in Westland is hosting a Valentine’s Day scare.

“Couples enjoy doing horror-based things,” said Cody Bailey of Hush Haunt.

The theme is a hotel called Hush Falls.

“There was going to be a Valentine’s ball at Hush Falls and we invited Cupid in and his arrows got replaced by some poisoned ones,” Bailey said.

Now, the guests of Hush Falls can’t leave and once you check in, they may not let you check out. Hush is a go-to for Halloween but Bailey wanted to take their indoor facility and make it more profitable year-round.

“We’re also getting ready to launch murder mystery dinners that will be inside of our mansion,” he said.

Bailey says other haunted houses across the country have been hosting an event on the day for lovers. This is the first time Hush is offering this event, and they’re hoping to make about $50,000.

They have sold many tickets online and it isn’t just couples. Singles might enjoy it too.

“Probably 50% are couples and then it seems like a lot of the other ones are large groups,” Bailey said.

If you’re a dude who is thinking this is a good way to keep your date close, Bailey says pictures from their Halloween attraction shows guys doing the exact opposite.

“Usually the guy screams like a girl and it’s really embarrassing for them,” he said.

They will be open Feb. 14 and 15.
