The Michigan Department of Corrections confirms that 'White Boy Rick' (Richard Wershe) has been released from prison in Michigan.

Wershe was released to the custody of  the U.S. Marshals Service to be transported to Florida.

He has a prison term to serve in Florida on a case that involved a car theft ring and racketeering. Wershe had been at the Oaks Correctional Facility in Manistee, Michigan.

Wershe was granted parole after nearly 30 years in prison on a drug conviction. He was Michigan's longest-serving non-violent criminal.
