If you've been on social media recently, you've probably seen the hashtag #MeToo trending on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or other websites.

It started with actress Alyssa Milano tweeting out something her friend suggested to her.

"Me too. Suggest by a friend: 'If all women who have been sexually harassed or assaulted wrote 'Me Too.' as a status, we might give people a sense of the magnitude of the problem,'" she wrote.

Milano followed up tha tweet with another that said "Me Too."

Thousands of women have been posting the hashtag with their stories, including other celebrities like Anna Paquin, Debra Messing, Rose McGowan, Rosario Dawson, Lea Thompson and more.

It comes on the heels of dozens of sexual assault and harassment allegations against Harvey Weinstein.
