ADRIAN, Mich. (WXYZ) — UPDATE: The Adrian Police Department released this sketch of the suspect in the attempted abduction of a woman in a Meijer's parking lot in January.

-----------------------------------------

Adrian Police responded to an attempted abduction in a Meijer's parking lot Thursday.

Officers say the 29-year-old female victim parked in the southwest part of the lot and began walking toward the building when a man approached her asking for the time.

As the woman pulled out her phone, the suspect grabbed the phone and started pushing her toward the truck, police say. The man told the woman he'd shoot her if she made a scene. As the two struggled, the woman was thrown to the ground and was able to run away into the store.

The suspect is described as a medium-height slender black man appearing to be in his mid-40s to early 50s with a partially gray beard. He was wearing a hat and dark clothing.

Police say the vehicle was a late model silver or gray truck -- either a "Dodge or Chevy" with a regular cab.

Anyone with information about the incident should contact Adrian Police at (517) 264-4834.
