DETROIT (WXYZ) — In an exclusive interview with Action News reporter Simon Shaykhet, Detroiter Ashley Vassar, a single mother, describes her terrifying experience of having a gun pointed right at her and a woman demanding money at the Sunoco gas station on Grand River near Evergreen.

The incident took place at about 9:15 pm on Monday, after Vassar says she accidentally bumped into the woman’s silver Dodge Journey with her Ford Taurus wagon.

“I got out to apologize and all of a sudden she was shouting obscenities at me and pointing the barrel of her gun,” says Ashley.

She says the nightmare got even worse, when the woman began to chase her down the road.

“I was just trying to get away and she kept coming after me with a shiny pistol pointed at us,” Ashley adds.

There were allegedly witnesses, and Detroit Police are now investigating.

The gas station is a partner of the city’s “Green Light” surveillance program, however no video is being released at this time.
