DETROIT (WXYZ) — The woman wanted in connection to a fatal hit-and-run in Detroit has surrendered to police.
DPD says the woman turned herself in around 10:30 a.m. Thursday.
She was taken into custody at the Detroit Police Departments 8th pct. and was transported to the Detroit Detention Center without incident, police say.
The driver of the Chevy Trailblazer is currently being questioned by the investigation unit.
On April 14 around 3:10 p.m. in the 15900 block of Evergreen, an 83- year old male victim was taking groceries from his vehicle in his driveway when the female suspect, traveling north on Evergreen in a Dodge Journey, lost control of her vehicle and collided into the victim’s Buick Century.
Police say the woman struck the elderly man then sped off from the scene.
After fleeing, the female suspect along with her male passenger got out of the Dodge Journey at Evergreen and Puritan and was picked up by a driver (suspect #2) of a dark color Chevy Trailblazer, then fled east on Grand River, according to police.
