TROY, Mich. (WXYZ) — Two women received misdemeanor citations for fighting in public after an altercation at La Marsa in Troy.

On Nov. 21, officers responded to the restaurant on a report of two women fighting. Police say the two women, a 57-year-old from Warren and a 47-year-old from Royal Oak, were arguing over a parking space when the argument turned physical.

Police say during the fight, the 47-year-old was knocked to the ground and suffered a cut to the back of her head and complained of a possible broken wrist. She was then taken to a hospital for further treatment.

The 57-year-old had a swollen thumb but declined medical treatment.

A witness told police that both women were "equally hitting the other with slaps and kicks to the shins."
