(WXYZ) — Whether it's the change of the seasons, a day out with friends or a special occasion, nothing captures the moment like a photo. If you want to share your love of metro Detroit, where do you turn?

Yes, Instagram is the premier photo-sharing app, but where do you snap the perfect selfie or memorable group shot? Check out the most Instagrammable spots in metro Detroit for our Thursday's Top 7.

So, how do you take a stand out photo? Amateur photographers we caught up with say "a lot of interesting colors", "beautiful historic scenery" and "interesting architecture!" Mack, who works downtown, says don't forget the lighting!

"It always makes my skin pop!"

These are photo spots that popped in our online viewer poll:

#7 RENAISSANCE CENTER
We're starting off with the Renaissance Center. It's the most distinctive aspect of the Detroit skyline. But it makes great pics using the RenCen's height for crazy perspective!

#6 GREENFIELD VILLAGE /HENRY FORD
6th on our list is Greenfield Village and The Henry Ford. They're a picture paradise for people of all ages. A picture here can take you back in time.

#5 EASTERN MARKET
We're here at Eastern Market, it's 5th on our list. Here you can snap a selfie at a shed or maybe create a memory at a mural.

#4 MICHIGAN CENTRAL STATION
4th on our list is the Michigan Central Station. It was once a sign of ruin and neglect, but now work is underway and it's still a top spot for Instagram.

#3 MICHIGAN STADIUM
Michigan Stadium is 3rd on our list. There are millions of memories created here every year. And as the world's 2nd largest stadium, The Big House is truly worthy of Instagram stardom.

#2 SCOTT FOUNTAIN ON BELLE ISLE
And the Scott Fountain here on Belle Isle is 2nd on our list. It's beautiful. The symmetry is great and with all that gleaming marble, it's great for the Gram.

#1 DETROIT RIVERFRONT
And the top spot goes to the Detroit Riverfront! We caught up with a trio of international tourists from India, Latvia and Lithuania snapping pictures for their Instagram. Even jumping trying to get the picture just right.

"We were walking all over the city after breakfast and we thought it was a great part of town", says Snehal, who is in town attending a conference. He adds, "We got some really nice pictures for our kids back home."

And they'll go home with memories and photos of Detroit and it's people.

There are so many great spots to take picture around metro Detroit that didn't make the top 7. Some a little edgier, like the Belt or more classical like the DIA and everything in between. So there's definitely a location that will speak to you.
