ROSEVILLE, Mich. (WXYZ) — As Bryan Murphy was opening his small business, S & B Landscaping in Roseville on June 4, two guys drove in and started grabbing what they could.

They were able to fit a weed wacker and a leaf blower into their Honda and drive off. Murphy then posted pictures from a new surveillance system on his Facebook page and he says he got quick help.

“Someone actually on Facebook contacted me and told me this is their neighbor,” the small business owner said.

Murphy got the surveillance system after he had three trucks and snow plows stolen in February. Roseville police recovered the trucks in Detroit. The snow plows showed up on Facebook, Murphy said.

“Two plows were found on Facebook for sale," he said. "They notified us and we notified police and they went and confiscated them. One was found right in his back yard.”

The two recent items stolen were found inside a pawn shop and Murphy says he had to go buy them back. Roseville police say pawn shops are supposed to record the stuff they buy online, and if the owner shows up with proof they will get their stuff back for free. That could still be the case here.

Roseville police also say they tracked down the car, found the owner, a woman who said she loaned it to a man who has taken off. They have an arrest warrant and are working to locate the two men in the video.

"I want justice," Murphy said. "It seems like criminals have more rights than victims do. I’m frustrated because you have to recoup the equipment on the spur of the moment, and it’s a burden to file a claim with insurance because in the end you’re going to pay for that anyway when your rates go up.”
