WXYZ DETROIT — Once again, it’s time for our Community Comments. We received a lot of reaction to our station editorials about the auto talk negotiations and eliminating blight in Detroit neighborhoods. Tamia LaNee Buckley writes:

“Unions have never looked out for just their own interests. We have always been about equality and building the middle class.”

Larry Scott said:

“Yes, unions are just a part of our society. Some are corrupt. Time to clean house on the corrupt unions.”

Allison Dunn commented:

“Never going to feel sorry or empathetic towards the greed of a multi-billion dollar company. I hope the workers only get what they are owed.”

Jay Wood said:

“GM is trying to break the union.”

Michael Pocock responded:

“I hope so. Union is terrible.”

Another viewer added this message:

“Maybe they should all be thinking about the consumers – the ones that keep them in business and working.”

- David Bazydlo

Regarding blight, Linda Thomas asked:

“Don’t the banks own a lot a lot of these properties? Why hasn’t the city gone after them with fines?”

Dennis Hampton writes:

“Why should Detroiters give (the Mayor) another $250 million when they are under investigation for the first $250 million?”

Ronald Maser:

“They have been doing this for 50 years.”

Tim Hoerner:

“How about money for public safety?”

Another viewer asks:

“Now that Detroit is out of bankruptcy, floating revenue bonds will just put them closer to bankruptcy again. I say sell some of that artwork in the DIA or the naming rights like you did to Cobo Hall.”

- Ed Chaczyk

Gary Robertson posed this question:

“What is it, re-election time?”

That’s it for now. Thanks for writing and watching.
