Romulus police officer escorts speeding woman in labor to the hospital

Sometimes there really is a need for speed. And in Romulus, you may even get a police escort.

According to a Facebook post by the Romulus Police Department, an officer helped a woman in labor safely reach the hospital after he pulled her over for speeding.

Police said Officer Perkins noticed a woman was going a "tad" over the speed limit on a side road. When he pulled her over, he noticed she was pregnant and her water had just broken.

The officer escorted her to St. Joe's Hospital and helped carry the woman's other two children from the car to the labor and delivery unit while mom got admitted.

The post says Officer Perkins didn't stay for the delivery, but the department must have had fun imagining how it would have gone down if Officer Perkins had to deliver. In fact, they even posted a video...
