The final scoreboard didn't reflect the beating that Michigan State put on Notre Dame in South Bend last weekend but it was clear to everyone who watched for almost three quarters who the better team was.

Until the wave of momentum went back the other way.

That's football thought, and the Spartans were able to make the key plays down the stretch to get out of Notre Dame with the 36-28 victory.

However now a different season begins, one that will have a larger lasting effect than a win against the Irish.

"The Notre Dame win is exciting but, we've never gotten a ring by beating Notre Dame," MSU head coach Mark Dantonio said. "You get your rings and your championships by winning in the big ten conference."

Coach Dantonio expands on these thoughts and more in this weeks one-on-one conversation with WXYZ sports reporter Justin Rose.
