For the first time in Dual in Detroit history, one driver has swept the weekend race at the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear.

Graham Rahal, driving the No. 15 Rahal Letterman Lanigan Honda, dominated the second Dual in Detroit race just like he did on Saturday.

He led 55 of 70 laps on Saturday and told the media he didn't plan on making any changes. It appears his team kept the same strategy and car for Sunday's race. He led 41 of 70 laps on Sunday.

"These weekends just don't happen often," Rahal said. "We showed up, pulled this beautiful red, white and blue beast off the trailer and it was good."

Team Penske and Chevrolet, who failed to have a driver on the podium Saturday, finished in second and third place with Josef Newgarden and Will Power respectively.

The race was relatively quiet with no caution flags until about five laps left when both Spencer Pigot and James Hinchcliffe suffered car issues and were stopped on the track.

It appears Pigot suffered a blown engine while Hinchcliffe's car had an electrical issue.

That brought out the red flag and the cars were stopped on pit road with just three laps remaining.

It came down to a two-lap stint that saw Rahal dominate as he has the entire weekend.

Next weekend, the Verizon IndyCar series heads to Texas where Rahal got a win last year.
