WXYZ — The Big Ten Conference announced on Wednesday that Ohio State will play Northwestern in the Big Ten Championship game despite not meeting the leagues six-game requirement to be eligible set before play was resumed.

Michigan canceled their game with Ohio State due to COVID-19 cases on the team, meaning that Ohio State (5-0) could not meet the required number of games played to be eligible, but after the athletic directors and conference officials got together, they determined that Ohio State still will represent the East Division in the title game.

Ohio State beat Indiana head-to-head, who is currently in second place in the East.
