DETROIT (AP) -- A little gift gave the Detroit Tigers a four-game sweep.
Pinch runner Cameron Maybin easily scored on a bases-loaded wild pitch by Steve Cishek with two outs in the 10th inning Thursday and the Tigers beat the Seattle Mariners 5-4.
"There's a different feel in the clubhouse," said James McCann, who homered in the win. "I don't really know the right word other than just the way that guys walk around, just a different swag about our team."
Detroit swept a four-game set from Seattle for the first time since August 1980 at Tiger Stadium.
Nelson Cruz homered twice and Chris Iannetta and Leonys Martin later hit back-to-back drives for the Mariners, who lost their sixth in a row.
Robinson Cano struck out with a runner on third to end the Seattle 10th.
The Mariners were at a loss from the start -- pitcher Adrian Sampson exited with discomfort in his right elbow while warming up for the first inning.
Sampson will be evaluated back in Seattle.
"Was no pop or anything, just a little discomfort. Felt it was best if I just come out of the game," he said.
Steven Moya drew a one-out walk from Cishek (2-4) in the 10th and Maybin pinch ran. Pinch hitter Victor Martinez singled, with an error by left fielder Seth Smith on the play putting runners on second and third. After an intentional walk to load the bases, Andrew Romine struck out.
Cishek then threw a pitch that bounced over Iannetta's glove to the on-deck circle and Maybin breezed home before the catcher could make a play.
"That's the way it goes," Cishek said. "It's just embarrassing to give it away like that. Rather have him put in play."
Kyle Ryan (3-2), who worked out of a bases-loaded jam Wednesday night, earned the win by escaping a jam of his own making in the 10th. His wild throw put a runner on third with no outs, but he got out of it.
"He created the problem but he did an outstanding job of getting out of it," Tigers manager Brad Ausmus said. "In this series since he got called back up, he's been outstanding for us."
Cruz's second home run of the game, his 18th of the season, made it 4-all in the sixth.
Daniel Norris made his first start of the season for Detroit and gave up three runs, all on solo homers, in five innings.
"The fifth inning kind of sped up on me and hit a bit of a wall, but for the first four innings, I got to look at the positives from that," Norris said. "I felt good, my stuff was playing good. I was locked in for a little bit and then the fifth was a different ballgame."
Vidal Nuno wound up starting for the Mariners and pitched into the fourth.
TRAINER'S ROOM
Mariners: Manager Scott Servais said RHP Wade Miley (left shoulder impingement), who went on the disabled list on June 13, would be ready to pitch as soon as the 15 days are up.
Tigers: Ausmus said OF J.D. Martinez (non-displaced fracture right elbow), who went on the DL on June 17, is keeping active despite his injury. "He's been working out and getting treatment," Ausmus said. "(Strength coach) Chris Walter has been running him around the stadium."

Detroit C Jarrod Saltalamacchia made his first start at first base this season. He played two innings at first base on April 23 in a 10-1 loss to Cleveland. Since 2007, he has made eight appearances there but just two starts.
