Blake Griffin's 26 points leads Pistons past Grizzlies

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Blake Griffin had 26 points, eight rebounds and seven assists, and the Detroit Pistons beat the Memphis Grizzlies 101-94 on Wednesday night to snap a three-game skid.

Griffin closed out a 13-0 Detroit run in the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach. Six Pistons finished in double-figures scoring, including Reggie Jackson scoring 16 points, and Reggie Bullock and Luke Kennard with 13 each.

Jaren Jackson Jr. led Memphis with 26 points and 10 rebounds, and Kyle Anderson scored 15 points. Dillon Brooks finished with 14 points off the bench as the Grizzlies dropped their third straight.

Memphis was within 83-82 right after Reggie Jackson returned with 6:30 left in the game. Kennard started the 13-0 burst, connecting on a pair of 3-pointers before Jackson hit a layup to make it 91-82. That led to a Memphis timeout. Griffin scored the next five points in the rally.

The Grizzlies cut into the lead, but it wasn't near enough.

Memphis held a 55-51 lead at the half as Jaren Jackson and Marc Gasol had 11 points each. Griffin had 14 points for the Pistons.

The Grizzlies benefitted from 58 percent shooting despite making only 3 of 10 from outside the arc. They couldn't keep up the shooting pace all night, finishing the game at 46 percent, including only 22 percent from outside the arc.

The Pistons were able to pull even early in the second half and took the lead before the game settled into an exchange of leads with a trio of ties in the third period.

Detroit used a quartet of 3-pointers in the third to carry a 72-67 lead into the fourth.

Pistons: C Zaza Pachulia missed his second straight game with a right lower leg contusion. F Stanley Johnson was questionable with a left thigh contusion and played almost six minutes. ... Kennard has four straight games of multiple 3-pointers. ... Jackson made a 3-pointer with 4:18 left in the third quarter, his fourth of the game and 500th of his career.

Grizzlies: Marc Gasol has made a 3-pointer in 14 straight games, eclipsing the longest such streak of his career in December of 2017. .. Memphis (18-19) dropped below .500 for the first time since losing it season opener.
