ANN ARBOR, Mich. (WXYZ) -- Basketball Hall of Famer Michael Jordan served as an honorary captain for Michigan's season opener against Hawaii on Saturday.
Jordan met with the Wolverines Friday night, according to Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel. Jordan then spent time on the field at Michigan Stadium before the game, speaking to head coach Jim Harbaugh and Derek Jeter.
Jordan is the first in a series of high-profile honorary captains the Wolverines will host this season. Upcoming captains include NFL Network host Rich Eisen and Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, both Michigan alumni.
