Mark Dantonio hadn't tipped his hand completely on who his starting quarterback would be as Tyler O'Connor and junior Damion Terry competed throughout the spring and into fall camp, until today.
"He's the number one guy," Dantonio said of O'Connor. "He's had a good enough camp to say that at this point."
Dantonio added that there is a possibility that other quarterbacks will get a chance to play in some way this season.
Sophomore Brian Lewerke has also made some noise at the position, while freshman Messiah deWeaver is likely headed for a redshirt season.
The Spartans begin their season on Friday, Sept. 2 against Furman.
