DETROIT (WXYZ) — The National Independent Soccer Association and Detroit City FC announced Thursday they would be suspending play for at least the next 30 days due to the coronavirus outbreak.

That means the scheduled home opener on March 21 will be rescheduled.

"We greatly appreciate the support the community has shown to the club," said DCFC CEO Sean Mann. "The last thing we want to do is to contribute to the current threat posed to our community."

Further details regarding ticketing and updated schedules will be released at a later date.

The DCFC U.S. Open Cup match scheduled for April 8 at Keyworth Stadium against El Paso Locomotive FC is still scheduled pending further guidance form the U.S. Soccer Federation.
