(WXYZ) — After falling in the National Premier League Soccer Midwest Regional Final this summer, Detroit City FC rebounded strong in the inaugural NPSL Members Cup, winning the event.

DCFC clinched the win despite having one game left, after a 1-0 victory over the Michigan Stars in Pontiac on Wednesday night.

Yazeed Matthews scored the only goal in the match during the 67th minute, and despite celebrating on the road, they have one final home game on Saturday night against the Milwaukee Torrent, the final home game of the season.

Le Rouge has 22 points in the Members Cup, winning 7 of their 8 games and drawing just one with no losses. City is also unbeaten in 23 league matches.

"Let's party at Keywroth Stadium on Saturday," the team said.

In August, DCFC announce it was going pro by joining the National Independent Soccer Association, or NISA, with full membership. The league has been given provisional sanction by U.S. Soccer to be a division III league.

Then, in September, City said they will be launching a women's team in 2020 that will play in United Women's Soccer.

After Saturday's final match, there will be a presentation of the Members Cup trophy. Tickets are still available to the match.
