Detroit once again a top city for hockey fans, study finds

(WXYZ) — Detroit has once again been named one of the best cities for hockey fans, according to an annual report from WalletHub during the Stanley Cup Finals.

Hockeytown comes in at No. 2 on the list, just behind Boston, which has the Bruins once again in the Stanley Cup Finals.

To find the best cities, WalletHub looked at 21 different metrics, including number of Stanley Cup wins, number of NHL teams, number of NCAA division 1 teams, college & NHL fan engagement and more.

Michigan has several cities on the list. Ann Arbor comes in at No. 24, Hougton is 30th, Big Rapids is 34th, Marquette right behind at No. 35, Sault Ste. Marie at No. 44, East Lansing at 62nd and Kalamazoo at 72nd.

Behind Detroit is Pittsburgh at No. 3, Chicago at No. 4 and New York at No. 5.
