The Detroit Red Wings will open the second NHL season at Little Caesars Arena against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday, Oct. 4 at 7:30 p.m.
It's the franchise's 93rd season in the NHL, and they'll look to win their sixth straight home opener, where they are 51-31-9 all time.
While that is the only game that has been announced so far, the entire NHL schedule will be released on Thursday at 5 p.m.
