The Detroit Tigers will honor Alan Trammel and Jack Morris, who were just elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame, next summer when they retire the players' numbers.

Both Trammel and Morris were elected by the hall's Modern Era committee on Sunday night,a nd will be enshrined together on July 29 in Cooperstown.

In a statement released Sunday by Chris Ilitch, the team announced they will retire the numbers.

"All of us with the Tigers are looking forward to August, when we will be honoring these legends by retiring their numbers at Comerica Park," he said in the release.

The numbers 3 and 47 will go on the Comerica Park brick outfield wall, which already has six former Tigers players retired as well as Jackie Robinson's 42.

Those numbers are 2 for Charlie Gehringer, 5 for Hank Greenberg, 6 for Al Kaline, 11 for Sparky Anderson, 16 for Hal Newhouser and 23 for Willie Horton.
