WATERFORD, Mich. — Dylan Larkin spent Thursday night back in his hometown.
The Red Wings forward ate dinner and celebrated Special Olympics athletes from Waterford, offering a night full of surprises.
He gave each athlete New Balance shoes and gear — and they gave him a unique gift, too. Danny, one of the gold medalists from the Michigan games, gave Larkin a gold medal to keep.
