Lions announce their 2013 preseason schedule

DETROIT (WXYZ) - The Lions released their 2013 preseason schedule that is highlighted by games with the New York Jets in Week 1, and Tom Brady and the New England Patriots in Week 3 at Ford Field.

Jim Schwartz and the Lions will travel to Cleveland to smash helmets with the Browns in Week 2, and then Detroit concludes its preseason schedule on the road against the Buffalo Bills in Week 4.

It will be the 33rd meeting between the Lions and Bills in the preseason. Detroit and Buffalo they have played one another in the preseason finale each year since 2002.

Detroit and New England have tackled each other seven times during the preseason, with the Lions holding a 5-2 record in the series.

The NFL is expected to release its regular season schedule for 2013 by April 16.
