ALLEN PARK, Mich. (WXYZ) -- The Lions added six players to their defense in the 2017 draft and while they admit they don't know a lot about them just yet, the existing defense sounds optimistic about this year's rookie class.

"The things we've done this offseason with the draft, and the guys we picked up this offseason... I'm excited. Especially with these young draft picks, the linebackers and defensive backs, it's going to be a lot of fun to see how they can help us," said veteran defensive tackle Haloti Ngata.

"I think you just trust the scouting process, you trust the coaches, trust the front office, trust the GM that they guys that they're bringing in are guys that are capable and are going to help us win football games," said veteran safety Glover Quin.

Quin was also asked how he's feeling heading into the 2017 season, and he insists he feels better than ever. "My body feels good actually, I feel like I'm 25 again," Glover said. He said him wife reminded him that -- at 31 years old -- he can't relax as much during the offseason if he wants to feel good come fall. Quin said when the season ended, he only took two or three days off before he was back in the gym.
