ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) - The Detroit Lions have taken Larry Warford in the third round of the NFL draft. Detroit drafted the Kentucky offensive guard 65th overall Friday night.
The 6-3, 333-pound Warford will have an opportunity to start at guard opposite Rob Sims on Detroit's revamped line that is without three starters from last season.
Warford, who is the first Kentucky offensive lineman drafted since 1993, is a three-time second-team All-Southeastern Conference pick. Warford was also All-SEC second team by SEC coaches.
Warford was also regarded as a three-star recruit by Rivals.com, as that recruiting service listed 30th among the nation's elite guard prospects.
