As the team continues to watch Tony Scheffler's recovery from a concussion closely, the Lions have signed TE Dorin Dickerson.
Wide Receiver Patrick Edwards was released to create roster space.
Edwards suffered a high ankle sprain in the Lions loss to Arizona and missed two games. Since returning to the lineup, he was held to two catches in two games.
He was held without a catch in yesterday's win over Cleveland.
News of Dickerson's signing has not been confirmed by the team, but Dickerson posted confirmation on his twitter page today, tweeting he had signed with Detroit.
Scheffler suffered a concussion in the Lions loss to Green Bay on October 6, the third concussion of his career. He has yet to be cleared for contact.
Scheffler did not make the trip to Cleveland with his teammates.
Dickerson has played 18 games in the NFL, seven with the Texans in 2011 and 11 with the Bills in 2012. He has nine career receptions for 117 yards.
