A group of Lions surprised kids on their first day of school with shoes, uniforms, backpacks, computers, and a profound message that resonated with the students.

Golden Tate, Quandre Diggs, Jamal Agnew, and Devon Kennard joined Lomas Brown at Detroit Lions Academy on the opening of the 2017-18 school year.

The Lions worked with sponsors to donate a new printer, multiple laptops, and other supplies for their school.

Middle school students were treated to a lunch with the players, and a message from each.

"This is an alternative school, so the kids that come here... don't have support. So that means a lot," one student said.
